What Shoreline provides
Shoreline Pros provides waterfront-property information, public-source business research, project-intake tools, structured project information, and ways for homeowners and waterfront professionals to connect.
Shoreline may use software and AI to interpret messy human input, summarize or classify project information, and suggest follow-up questions. Contractor eligibility and project fit are intended to rely on explicit criteria and rules rather than an opaque ranking.
Information, not professional advice
Shoreline content is for general informational and planning purposes. It is not legal, engineering, surveying, environmental, insurance, tax, financial, permitting, or other licensed professional advice.
Waterfront rules, site conditions, permit requirements, property records, and contractor qualifications can change or require project-specific interpretation. Confirm important decisions with the appropriate government agency or qualified professional.
Contractor profiles and public records
Some contractor profiles are created from reliable public or business-provided sources before the contractor claims the profile. Shoreline distinguishes public-source information from contractor-confirmed information where practical.
A permit record, applicant role, website statement, license record, or other source is evidence of what that source says. It is not automatically proof of workmanship quality, project completion, responsibility for the work, current availability, or suitability for your project.
Professionals may claim, verify, and request corrections to their profiles. Claiming a basic profile is free.
Homeowner projects and connections
Homeowners are responsible for the accuracy of the project and contact information they provide. Shoreline may structure, summarize, or derive project facts from that information to make the conversation more useful.
When you ask Shoreline to route a project or message to a professional, you authorize Shoreline to share the project information reasonably needed for that professional to evaluate the opportunity and, when the connection flow permits, your contact information.
Shoreline does not guarantee that a professional will respond, accept a project, provide a quote, obtain a permit, complete work, or produce any particular result.
Professional opportunities and fees
Professionals can maintain a free basic profile without purchasing opportunities. If a professional opts into qualified Shoreline opportunities, Shoreline may present project opportunities that meet the professional's confirmed fit criteria.
Any opportunity fee is shown before the professional decides whether to connect with the homeowner. Passing on an opportunity does not create an opportunity charge. By accepting a paid opportunity, the professional authorizes Shoreline and its payment processor to charge the amount shown for that opportunity.
Payment does not improve a professional's ranking or override project-fit rules.
Your responsibilities
When using Shoreline, you agree not to:
- Provide information you know is materially false or misleading.
- Impersonate another person or business or falsely claim authority to represent a business.
- Upload content you do not have the right to share.
- Use the service to harass, defraud, spam, scrape at unreasonable volume, interfere with the service, or attempt unauthorized access.
- Use Shoreline content or data in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights.
Independent professionals
Waterfront professionals listed or connected through Shoreline are independent businesses, not Shoreline employees or agents. Any contract for services is between the homeowner and the professional unless Shoreline expressly states otherwise.
You are responsible for reviewing scope, pricing, licensing where applicable, insurance, references, permit responsibility, contract terms, and other factors you consider important before hiring or performing work.
Availability and accuracy
Shoreline works to make information useful and appropriately sourced, but public records can be incomplete, delayed, inconsistent, or incorrect. Business information can also change.
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. Shoreline may change, suspend, correct, or remove features or information as the product develops.
External services and links
Shoreline may link to contractor websites, government systems, source documents, mapping services, payment processors, and other third-party services. Those services are controlled by their respective operators and may have their own terms and privacy practices.
Limitation of responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shoreline is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service, reliance on site information, contractor performance, project outcomes, or third-party services.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Changes and contact
Shoreline may update these terms as the service changes. The current version and its effective date will be posted here.
Questions about these terms can be sent to profiles@shorelinepros.com.
