Shoreline Pros

Privacy Policy

Shoreline Pros is built to help waterfront property owners research projects, understand local information, and connect with professionals. This policy explains the information Shoreline collects and how it is used.

Last updated September 16, 2026

Information you provide

Depending on how you use Shoreline, you may provide information such as:

  • Your name, email address, mobile number, and preferred contact method.
  • Property location and project information, including descriptions, answers to project questions, photos, videos, or other files you choose to upload.
  • Messages you ask Shoreline to route to a waterfront professional.
  • For professionals, claim-verification information, profile corrections, contact preferences, service-area information, capacity, project preferences, exclusions, and other matching criteria.
  • Information related to paid contractor opportunities. Payment card details are handled by the payment processor rather than stored as raw card numbers by Shoreline.

Information Shoreline collects automatically

Shoreline may collect basic technical and usage information needed to operate and improve the service, such as pages viewed, interactions with project or messaging flows, device class, referring site, and similar product-usage events.

Shoreline uses a signed session cookie to keep related homeowner activity together. That cookie can remain on your browser for up to 30 days. For abuse prevention and operational analysis, Shoreline may also store a one-way hashed representation of an IP address rather than the raw address in relevant activity records.

Public-source information

Shoreline researches waterfront businesses and projects using public and business-provided sources, including company websites, permitting records, licensing or registration sources, and other relevant public records.

Public-source information is kept distinguishable from contractor-confirmed information. Public permit roles and associations are not treated as proof of project quality, completion, or contractor responsibility unless the underlying record supports that conclusion.

How information is used

Shoreline uses information to operate the site and provide the service, including to:

  • Interpret and structure project descriptions and uploaded material.
  • Help determine which type of waterfront service may be relevant.
  • Apply explainable project-fit rules when matching homeowners with professionals.
  • Route messages or project opportunities when you ask Shoreline to do so.
  • Verify and maintain contractor profiles.
  • Provide local project, property, permitting, and waterfront information.
  • Measure product usage, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the service.
  • Process contractor opportunity payments and maintain related transaction records.

When information is shared

Shoreline does not sell personal information to advertisers.

When you ask Shoreline to contact or route a project to a professional, Shoreline may share the project information needed for that professional to evaluate fit. Homeowner contact information is disclosed according to the connection flow rather than published publicly.

Shoreline may also share information with service providers that help operate the product, such as hosting, database, email, analytics, file-storage, and payment-processing providers. Those providers receive information only as needed to perform their services.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the service or its users, investigate misuse, or enforce applicable terms.

Uploads and project information

Do not upload material you do not have the right to share. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information in project descriptions, images, videos, or documents.

Shoreline may create structured project facts, summaries, media observations, estimated project-value ranges, and similar derived information from what you submit so the service can organize the project and improve contractor fit.

Data retention and security

Shoreline keeps information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain accurate records, support project and contractor workflows, resolve disputes, meet legal or accounting obligations, and improve the product. Different records may have different retention periods.

Shoreline uses reasonable technical and operational safeguards, but no internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can choose not to submit a project, upload media, claim a professional profile, or opt into contractor opportunities. Professionals can claim or correct a profile without opting into paid opportunities.

To ask about personal information, request a correction, or raise a privacy question, email profiles@shorelinepros.com.

Changes to this policy

Shoreline may update this policy as the product changes. The current version and its effective date will be posted on this page.
